We have seen basics of English in previous posts...Now we will continue with our main topics.In this post i will tell you about Sentences its formations and its types...
SENTENCES:
As we learnt words are formed by combining letters,Similarly a sentence is formed using different words.
Definition-A Sentence is a combination of different words that gives some meaning.
Group of words will be called a sentences if it makes some sense.
E.g-I am a boy (SENTENCE)
a boy am I (NOT A SENTENCE)....because it does not give any meaning.
TYPES OF SENTENCES
Sentence are Classified in two groups.
Simple classification
1. ASSIRTIVE/STATEMENT
2. INTERROGATIVE
3. IMPERATIVE /COMMAND
4. OPTATIVE
5. EXCLAMATORY
Classification based on Structure.
1. SIMPLE SENTENCES
2. COMPOND SENTENCES
3. COMPLEX SENTENCES.
